Come to Marrakech, where our trekking tour of Morocco will begin! A private minibus will be waiting for you to take you from Marrakech to Imi Oughlad. Imi Oughlad is located at 1450 meters and will be our starting point on this hiking tour.
Upon arrival, we will be welcomed with a cup of traditional Moroccan tea. We will assemble the luggage on the mules to start on our route. On the way we will find the Tacht pass (2000 meters) and we will have lunch in this area. Then we will pick up the pace until we reach Tiziane (1750 meters), where after 4 or 5 hours of walking we will find the house in which we will stay tonight.
Now it is time to rest in order to gain some strength for tomorrows adventures.
Today we will start our ascent through the Valley of Azaden. Here we will be able to see many terraced crops. Fun fact: since the land in this area is very rich in iron oxide is has great agriculutral value!
After admiring these landscapes we will pass through some villages and along many paths outlined by fruit trees. This path will take us to Takherrourte, where we will have lunch and replenish our strength before continuing on our route towards the village of Tembo, know for its production of walnut wood.
Finally, after 5-6 hours of walking, we will arrive in Assoule where we will spend the night and get some well deserved rest.
This morning we will have chance to enjoy the incredible panoramic views of the valleys and mountains from the top of Tagoudalte. After spending the morning here we will set off on our route through Les Bergeries de Tourirte towards Sabinas Thuriferous.
At the end of the road we will reach the village of Tizi Donna (1850 m). Here we will have some lunch before we continue to Tamsoulte, which is where we will rest for the night.
Wake up everyone! Today´s trek will begin at medium difficulty, heading towards Aguelzim Tizi de Mula (3550m). Once we have reached this location we will rest for a little while before continuing towards the suthwest for about 3 hours until we reach Toubkal.
Here we will be able to see the point that marks the limit of the snow in spring. Once we have had dinner in the bivouac, we will head to bed to recharge our batteries.
Today is our final day! We will have to make the most out of it and this means we need to get up early! We will climb a steep hill for 3 hours, not surprising since it is the highest peak in Maghreb (4167m). We will then take some time to catch our breath and observe the beautiful, pamoramic views from the top.
After a short break, we will continue on our route towards Ikkhibi, which will entail a 2-3 hour descent to the hurt, where we will stop for a picnic. A little bit later we will start a strong zig-zag descent from the upper slopes of the valley towards the Sanctuary of Sidi Reina. This beautiful place is located next to a waterfall, the “Morabito”. After visiting this sanctuary we will continue until we reach Imlil, from where we will travel to Msrrakesh, where this tour will come to an end.
