1’ Day - Florence

Today you’ll have the day to arrive to Florence and check in. Florence, the birth of the Renaissance.

Thanks to the Medici family, from the 18th century, Florence became a world reference for art: here, the streets were filled with writers, poets, painters, sculptors, and geniuses of the calibur or Rafaello, Michaelangelo, Leonardo, Dontello, Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio, Botticelli, Machiavelli, Galileo… to name but a few!

Tuscan cuisine has many typical dishes, so don’t forget to try the typical Florentine steak! Or lampredotto… to always be accompanied by a Chianti wine.

Did you know that…

-Florence was the capital of Italy between 1865 and 1871

The Ponte Vecchio bridge was the main monument in the city that survived the Nazi shelling in World War II, like Big Ben in London’s case

– The Fontana del Porcellino Florence is well known for an old tradition: if you throw a coin into the mouth of the boar statue and the coin lands in the splashing water, you will be brought good fortune

2’ Day - Florence

“Buongiorno Principessa” said Benigni, an actor from the city of Florence, in the film “Life is Beautiful”.

Today you can visit numerous fine arts by these creators in the historical center of the Uffizi, or if walking round an exhibition hall is not for you, you could walk up the hill where you can simply see the fanciful arch of Brunelleschi which dominates the city.

Are you tired?? Better not be! Florence is a city full of life, and by night you can enjoy its university parties in the Santa Croce area.

3’ Day - Florence - Pisa - 5 Terre** - La Spezia

Tuscany doesn’t end in Florence. Today, we will get to know the profound Tuscany, as well as other towns with artistic heritage. We’ll make way towards the Tyrrhenian Sea, to the small university city of Pisa. Here we will pass through the ancient sea power of the middle ages to admire the most famous tower in the world with its inclination that has surprised the world for 1000 years: the Tower of Pisa.

And not only this, are you ready to go to the beach? Grab your swimsuit, towel and sunscreen, because after so muich art we are going to refresh ourselves in a unique place you won’t find anywhere else in the world: 5 Terre. 5 little towns with colorful houses, which can be found between the green mountains and end in the bluest sea you’ll have ever seen! A place where pollution amost hasn’t made a dent. There are very few cars and the way to travel between towns is either by foot or by a spectacular little train that runs along the seafront.

Entrance to the 5 Terre national park + unlimited travel by train**: €16

Did you know that…

– The most momentous feature in Pisa is its leaning tower Pisa. A huge number of travelers rush every year solely to see the tower and take a typical ‘holding it up’ picture

– It is considered, after the cathedral, as one of the jewels of Romanesque art and the government has requested help several times to prevent its collapse

4’ Day - Venice

Today we’ll get moving to the beautiful and unique “City of Canals”! But, before anything else, why not relax a little in the crystal waters that the 5 Terre offers? Lets take a dip and sunbathe a little!

In the afternoon we’ll put the City of Canals in the SatNav, the city that had the honor of being of of the most powerful, rich and populated for centuries, dominating the mediterranean and the comercial routes to the orient: Venice!

Did you know that…

– 5 Terre is made up of five little towns on the Italian coast that run along 10 kilometers of rocky coast, enclosed by two headlands: Punta di Mesco and Punta di Montenero

– They were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.

– The towns are called: Monterroso Al Maree, Vernazza, Manarolas, Riomaggiores and Corniglias.

5’ Day - Venice

Fall in love with this city that could well be an exhibition hall of the extraordinary. Venice is one of the most photographed places in the world. Don’t waste time, grab your camera and find your inner photographer; bridges, Vaporettos and Gondolas are all waiting to be snapped!

Appreciate the Basilica of San Marco, whose Burano glasswork has obvious byzantine influence, as do the multicoloured little houses of Burano!

In the afternoon you will have the choice to continue enjoying Venice by yourself or visit the Islands of Murano and Burano with us. As we explain from the onset, the choices we offer are almost unlimited, it’s up to you what you do!

Did you know that…

– The last bridge built in Venice was designed by a Spanish architect Calatrava

– From time to time in Venice a phenomenon called “Acqua Alta” occurs, which causes a sharp rise in water level in the lagoon of Venice. It usually lasts about 3 to 4 hours and dependent upon the force with which it happens it can reach a surge of up to a meter of water that could cover most of the historical district

– The only way to get around the city is on foot or by water. It is illegal to drive a car or ride a bicycle in this district

– Walking around Venice could give you the feeling that there are numerous channels, whereas there are in fact just two: the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal. The other little waterways that course through the restricted lanes are called rivers

6’ Day - Venice - Verona - Innsbruck

Before saying arrivederci to Italy, we’ll make one last stop in the city of lovers, so make the most of this opportunity 😉  Shakespeare’s Verona, the city of lovers is a myth known throughout the world, thanks to the famous story of two star-crossed lovers: Romeo and Juliet. Not only that, it is a World Heritage Site city where high caliber artistic pieces from various authentic periods are coordinated.

Up next: Tyrol! This sublime landscape will leave you flabbergasted by its pools of pure water, blanketed mountains and green valleys made famous by a certain Heidi!

At the heart of this snowcapped heaven we appreciate both the perfect air and also the engineering in Innsbruck, capital of the district where the renowned Swarowsky headquarters is located.

Did you know that…

– During World War II, German bombers destroyed nine of the city’s bridges, as well as many monuments and 44% of the homes

– Tourists visit Juliet’s home in which love letters line the walls.  Some trust that meeting at this spot will give them fortunes in affection, while others swear vows of adoration and attach locks to the bars of the windows

– Verona was under Austrian rule until 1866, the year in which it was at last joined with Italy

7’ Day - Innsbruck - Neuschweinstein - Munich

Another day, another country: Germany! Today we will cross the border into Germany to visit the Neuschweinstein castle, also known as Castle of the Mad King. Visiting the castle will plant you right in a Disney fairy tale. From here we will pass through parts of Bavaria to reach Munich, the drinking capital city of Germany, and famous for the Oktoberfest celebration… and Bayern! So recharge your engines and get ready to try the country’s locally brewed beer!

(Entrance to each attraction not included).
